A Mad Dogs and Bowlers sort of week
weather wise, but luckily the San Luis teams managed to keep their cool and
some good results emerged.
Our Ladies Two Wood Pairs achieved an excellent result on Monday against
San
Miguel C . An overall win of 38-23. At home , Pat Morris &
Margaret Morrison won 15-14 and Away, June Whitworth & Shirley
Withers won 23-9. Well played girls we’re proud of you. Boys results? Oops
lost in space ?
We scored a win in the friendly against Greenlands on Monday afternoon
The 20/20 against La Siesta on Tuesday evening resulted in a win for San
Luis 10-6. Shots 148-138. Both singles won, Colin Jackson
21-20 and Derrick Cooper 21-19:
Trips: John Thom, Ray Robson, Keith Roberts 16-8. Both rinks won , Allen
Bowen, Chris Brooks, Walter Oakes, David Whitworth 18-15 and Carol Lowry,
June McMillan, Sonny Cavanagh, Keith Lowry 27-14. Well played the team,
a satisfying win against our neighbours!
On Wednesday the King’s Cup Team were away to San Miguel…..and what a good
morning they had! 8 points to 2 …..we were well pleased !
John Haigh won his singles 21-9 in splendid form. The pairs : Colin
Jackson & Mal Hughes drew 17 all. Mel Highland, Charlie Marigold,
Val Sherry drew 12 all and the Rinks: Allen Bowen, Brian Sherry, Vic Slater
,John Withers continued their winning streak 17-9. This result puts
us well at the top of the League with 74 points, four in front of Emerald
Isle .
The Egg Cup Challenge needle match against La Siesta also took place on Wednesday…..but
as my crystal ball has heat stroke, I cannot give you the result !
The Wellingtons beat the La Marina Pilots at home on Friday , 9 points
to 5 . Shots SL 105 LM 92. Well played the Wellies ! Carol Lowry,
Jim Wilson, Charlie Marigold 19-10 :John Haigh, Neil Morrison, Phil Morrachan
24-5 : Mel Highland, Kevin Bell, Keith Roberts 16 all: Freda Wilson, Derek
Armstrong 17-15.
Sorry, no Mosquitoes report…..sack today’s Captain!
San Luis are recruiting experienced and novice bowlers for the new season
which starts in September. Vic Slater, our President, extends a warm welcome
