Country Bowls Club

The results for this week's Summer SABA Triples league:- The Foxes played at home against the Quesada Blenheims and although the wind gave a little respite from the heat, it also caused all sorts of problems. We had four winning rinks and just managed enough shots to win the big game to give us ten points. This weeks winning teams were, Geoff Paylor, Sheila Cammack & Dave Rogers who enjoyed a commanding lead and went on to win 24-8. Shirley Verity, Brian Patton & Ken Cuthbert, who after being just one shot in front after ten ends went into overdrive to win seven of the remaining eight, well done.

Pat Patton, Ron Cammack & Dave Chaplin won eight out of the last nine ends, another excellent score. Eddie McLaren, Alan Perry & Noel Verity just managed to cling onto their lead when the opposition came back hard at them in the latter part of the game, got you worried for a while chaps! The booby prize this week went to the teams of Jenny Chaplin, Trevor Cox & Roy Trow and Lynne Bishop, Laurence Tysoe & Eric Bishop, all of whom would be dropped for next week's game but as we don't have any replacements it looks like we shall be in! Aggregate shots:- Foxes 106(10) - 101(4) Blenheims.

The Badgers had an away game against the other Quesada team the Lancasters, where the our Captain and his team were the only one's to win their game, another team picked up one point for a draw, so well done to:- Charlie Watkins, Sue Norris & Barry Norris who had plenty of high scoring ends to finish 26-9 and Eileen McLaren, John Collins & Bruce Aitken who were chasing all the way and eventually caught up on the last end 15-15, a worthy point. Stan Runchman, Peter Robinson & Bryan Kirk lost by a couple of shots and Gillian Morris, Peter Scott & Dave Rutherford lost by just three.

Also unlucky were Paul Plant, Joel Fernandez & Harold Morris along with George Lucas, Dot Davies & John Bailey, better things next week eh! Aggregate shots Badgers 97(3) - 100(11) Lancasters.
